Addressable fire alarm system works by having every detection and notification device connected to each other and to control panel. In contrast to a conventional fire alarm system, which uses electrical currents, addressable system sends digital signals in binary code. Addressable systems function similarly to computers, converting voltage variations to binary code, consists of various combinations of zeros and ones. This enables the addressable fire alarms system to then send critical information to a control panel with a broader range of data. An addressable system can also pinpoint the precise location of smoke or fire, increasing safety and also reliability.
