Aspirating detection system; an active fire protection system. Consists of a central detection unit that detects the smoke by drawing air via a network of pipes. A nephelometer detects the presence of smoke particles floating in the air by detecting the light dispersed by them in the chamber. Smoke detected by aspirating detecting devices being apparent to the human eye. Requires a fan unit to extract a sample of air from the protected area through a network of pipes.

Fully integrated with traditional fire detection systems and aesthetics modified to be sympathetic to the environment. They are installed, making them ideal for high-risk, high-value environments such as data centers/server rooms and distribution centers. Early detection systems come in a variety of configurations to suit a wide range of situations and applications.
