An analog CCTV system; a traditional camera used in CCTV systems. Analog CCTV cameras capture images and send them to a digital recorder. It converts the video to digital format. To view the video, connect the DVR to a monitor or router and broadcast through internal network for remote access.

Typically less expensive, and in some cases significantly less expensive, than their digital counterparts. Also typically smaller, and they are transmitted to the DVR via coax rather than LAN. Transmitting them uses less bandwidth and puts less strain on your network. DVRs also typically transmit data and consume bandwidth only when someone is watching a video, rather than on a continuous basis.
